-Foster better communication and cooperation among the residents of Altoloma Park to make the neighborhood
a safer and more welcoming place to live. Get to know each other and grow pride in our neighborhood. Plan
Neighborhood Events!
-Use this Website and a periodic Newsletter to detail events, meetings, new residents, crime, neighborhood
issues and opportunities, etc.
-Share information on crime and neighborhood watch observations. Post this information on the website and
also use it to aid law enforcement and resident awareness in our area.
-Have resident meetings with local Police to increase knowledge of safe practices and build a relationship and
trust between both.
-Pool our efforts as voters on a local level to achieve neighborhood objectives with county/state government.
Perhaps even facilitate registration drives to further this effort. These efforts could include issues of increased
police patrols, proper trash collection, clearing of debris from creeks, etc.
-Pressure absentee owners to maintain their property.
-Achieve neighborhood improvement projects. For instance, pressure the county to clear the vacant lots they
own in the neighborhood. Using whatever concessions we can get from them, and volunteer neighborhood
efforts, create park areas – perhaps even basketball courts, bike ramps, picnic tables, etc. Kids won't need to
play in the street.
-Form alliances with local Real Estate Agents to act as a contact point/promotional tool to encourage potential
desirable owner/residents. Get them involved early.
